The minor in English allows students from any major to explore literature and creative writing.  Employers understand that students who study English are able to read and comprehend complicated material, analyze wording, and communicate their ideas clearly.  We welcome students from all majors to take our courses as electives and build a minor if you enjoy them.  Ideal courses to start with include: English 201* Reading and Writing about....., ENGL 21**, 22**, 23**, 24**, 25**, and CNW or CW courses 2000-3999.   

Students may declare the English minor on MyUI.  In order for the minor to be recorded, students must indicate completion of the minor when they apply for their degree prior to graduation.

Students who would like assistance in planning to meet requirements for the minor may stop by the advising office or schedule an appointment with the advisor by contacting the English office.
