Matthew Byrne is a writer, translator, and MFA candidate at the University of Iowa. He earned an MA in sociology from the University of California, Riverside. His work has appeared in Guernica, West Branch, Gulf Coast, Washington Square Review, Asymptote, and elsewhere. He has been awarded residencies from, among others, Yaddo, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and Marble House Project. He lives between Iowa City and Dublin, Ireland. He misses Oakland.
