Get to know April

April Zhu is a student in the Nonfiction Writing Program. She worked as a journalist for a decade in Nairobi, Kenya. Her byline has appeared in Guernica, Baffler, The New York Review of Books, n+1, Now Voyager, and Triple Canopy. She was a senior editor of nonfiction at Guernica, a 2023 Alicia Patterson Foundation Fellow, and a 2020 Blakemore Freeman Foundation Fellow.
