19th century British literature and Victorian amateurism; creative nonfiction, literary journalism

Anna is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Iowa.  She is currently at work on her dissertation on Victorian amateurism and knowledge cultures, which she is producing in podcast form under the direction of Jeffrey Porter and with the support of the National Endowment for the Humanities' "Next Generation Ph.D." project.  She served as a Production Assistant at Iowa Public Radio during the 2016-2017 academic year, during which she produced and co-hosted the podcast Lit City. She has a forthcoming article (Fall 2017) in Victorian Poetry.

Anna received her B.A. in English from Birmingham-Southern College in 2008 and her M.A. in English from the University of Alabama in 2011.  Before pursuing her Ph.D., she worked as an adjunct instructor of writing at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee.  At the University of Iowa, she has served as a Graduate Instructor for Rhetoric and The Interpretation of Literature.
