NWP alum Hannah Bonner, this year's CLAS Postgraduate Visiting Writer in Nonfiction, will read from her debut, Another Woman, this Friday, Sept 6 at 7pm at Prairie Lights Books. She will read with poet and musician Dan Wriggins, author of Prince of Grass.
According to Publishers Weekly's Book Life, “...Bonner’s debut is a feminist triumph that opens the pathways of consideration for how women transform over the course of their lives.”
Of Prince of Grass, Amy Gerstler writes, “Wriggins has captured our dissociative moment's sense of overwhelm, its blitzkrieg of product placement and tech engulfment, its hailstorm of contradiction and paradox, its alienation and even its inverted longings and hopes ‘to have no faith and be proven wrong.'”
Hannah Bonner is a writer, film programmer, and educator. She is a 2023-2024 National Book Critics Circle Emerging Critics Fellow, the Poetry Editor for Brink, and a CLAS Postgraduate Visiting Writer in Creative Nonfiction at the University of Iowa. Another Woman (EastOver Press 2024) is her first book.
Dan Wriggins is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop in Poetry. His debut, Prince of Grass, is published by Dear Life Records. He records and tours with the band Friendship, and releases music on Orindal Records and Merge Records.
