Biography

Connie Chen is a nonfiction writer and visual artist undressing divine flesh in objected, abjected, and rejected bodies. She engages the intersections of psychoanalysis, queer and feminist theory, disability studies, Christian theology, and critical theory in her work. A Master of Divinity graduate with a focus in religion and literature at Harvard, she has presented her research at a number of academic conferences. Her recent work has been published in The Flannery O’Connor Review. She is currently pursuing an MFA in creative nonfiction at the University of Iowa, where she is an Iowa Arts Fellow.
