NWP Student Lei Wang awarded Marcus Bach Fellowship

Jan 31, 2020

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences has awarded Nonfiction Writing Program student Lei Wang (NWP 2021) a Marcus Bach Graduate Fellowship to support the completion of her MFA thesis. As a recipient of the Fellowship, Lei will receive a single semester of support from CLAS, allowing her to focus on her nonfiction thesis titled "From Here to Here."

The Marcus Bach Graduate Fellowship is made possible by a bequest from the estate of Dr. Marcus Bach, who received a doctorate from UI in 1942 in Speech and Dramatic Arts. According to CLAS, "The fellowship’s goal is to foster intercultural communication and/or the understanding of diverse philosophies and religious perspectives, and projects in this area are the most appropriate proposals."
