NWP Student Ian Shank Named 2020-2021 Hellas Fellow

Nonfiction writer Ian Shank, a second-year MFA student in The Nonfiction Writing Program, was named the 2020-2021 Hellas Fellow by the NWP and the UI Office of International Programs.

As the 2020-2021 Hellas Fellow, Shank will join an NWP professor leading a group of undergraduate writers on "The Land of the Muses," a study abroad trip to Greece, during winter break. Shank will receive airfare to Athens, accommodations in Greece, and a $2,100 stipend for his work.

Designed specifically for English and Creative Writing majors but open to everyone, "The Land of the Muses" is an 11-day trip offering a full three credits and featuring excursions to some of the oldest and most inspiring sites in Europe.
