Reading by NWP Visiting Professor, Meghan Daum
Please join us for the first NWP reading of the semester, in which we'll welcome and celebrate Bedell Distinguished Visiting Professor Meghan Daum. Daum will read from The Unspeakable: And Other Subjects of Discussion, winner of the 2015 Pen Center USA Literary Award for Creative Nonfiction. The New York Times Magazine called the collection “thrillingly good," and declared Daum "one of the most emotionally exacting, mercilessly candid, deeply funny, and intellectually rigorous writers of our time.
Winner of a 2015 Guggenheim Fellowship and a 2016 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, Daum is the author of four books, including The Quality of Life Report, Life Would Be Perfect if I Lived in That House, and the much-celebrated My Misspent Youth. She is also the editor of Selfish, Shallow, and Self-Absorbed: Sixteen Writers on the Decision Not to Have Kids, which the Washington Post called a “searing collection” and the Atlantic called “hugely significant.”
