Lecture by Michael Titlestad, “Vandalism: on the limits of free jazz”
Michael Titlestad is Professor of English at the University of the Witwatersrand. He has written extensively on South African literature and culture and also on modernist writing. His current research projects concern the limits of apocalyptic logic as represented in contemporary novels and films, and the representation of voyages in fiction published after Conrad’s death. In addition to co-editing English Studies in South Africa, with Sofia Kostelac, he edits fiction.
He will speak on “Vandalism: on the limits of free jazz” on Friday, March 31st at 3:30 pm in the Gerber Lounge.
