English@Work Presents: Law and Careers

October 16, 2014 - 6:30pm
Gerber Lounge, 304 EPB

Join us for a discussion with a distinguished panel made up of former students of literature and writing who have gone on to study, practice, and/or teach law. Our guests will include: Carolyn Jones, former Dean of the College of Law and F. Wendell Miller Professor of Law; Chris Liebig, Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing & Research; Elizabeth Craig, Attorney, Martin-Diaz Law Firm; Todd McManus, Assistant General Counsel at Integrated DNA Technologies; and Ryan Beckenbaugh, current University of Iowa law student.

Have your questions answered, listen to insightful advice, and engage in conversations that will enhance your knowledge about what attending law school could do for your future. Many English students choose law—is it the right path for you? Come find out and bring friends. Non-English majors are welcome, too!

Professor Doris Witt (Director of Undergraduate Studies, English Department), herself an alumnus of the UI College of Law and current instructor of our English@Work course, will moderate this event. If you have questions, contact Kate Torno, the English Academic Advisor, at kate-torno@uiowa.edu.
