Darius Stewart has published three chapbook collections of poetry, including The Ghost the Night Becomes (2014), which won the 2013 Gertrude Press Poetry Chapbook Competition. He has been a visiting writer at East Tennessee State University, Lincoln Memorial University, and Tusculum College. His poetry and essays appear or are forthcoming in Appalachian Heritage, Aquifer: The Florida Review Online, Barren Magazine, Callaloo, Cimarron Review, Fourth Genre, Gargoyle, Many Mountains Moving, Meridian, Poet Lore, the Potomac Review, the Seattle Review, storySouth, Verse Daily and others. He is a graduate of Iowa’s Nonfiction Writing Program.
