Vincent Rotkiewicz is a doctoral candidate in English and will defend his dissertation in the spring or fall of 2017. Directed by Claire Sponsler, this work explores multiple expressions of social trauma in England’s Late Middle Ages. Taking as its focus the various Lucifer Pageants, Chaucer, and Malory, this dissertation asks the question, “whose voice is silenced in the work?” My dissertation seeks to identify these voices as a way of contextualizing these works within their larger milieu.
At the University of Iowa, Vincent has taught courses in the Rhetoric Department and for the General Education Literature program. He has also been a TA for Introduction to the English Major as well as an academic advisor for the English Department.
