Erin Lamb, BA

From the Hiram College Website: Erin Lamb, Ph.D., director of the Hiram College Center for Literature and Medicine, will be installed as the Herbert L. and Pauline Wentz Andrews Chair in Biomedical Humanities at the College’s Opening Convocation tomorrow. Dr. Lamb, associate professor and chair of biomedical humanities, earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Iowa, a postgraduate diploma in international cultural studies from Nottingham Trent University in England, and doctorate in American literature from Duke University. Jessica Graff

Jessica Graff is a recent graduate of the University of Iowa, where she studied English and Engaged Social Innovation with a focus on interfaith studies. She plans to pursue a career bringing interfaith concerns to the forefront of legislative policy. Graff taught K-6 students about world religions and tolerance in Iowa City after-school programs. Brigid Marshall, ’08

Brigid Marshall, ’08  English and Journalism. Brigid lives in Los Angeles and works at the Directors Guild of America, as well as working as an actress, performing sketch, improv and stand-up. Previously she was in Chicago, working with the iO Theater, Second City and the Goodman Theatre.  She shares that when she was a student she had no idea what she wanted to do other than expressing herself through writing.  Now she is grateful she can write her own material.

Lia Brenneman, BA '92, is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Florida English Language Institute (ELI), where she has been a faculty member since 2006. Her current responsibilities include recruitment, new teacher and graduate assistant supervision, and special programs coordination. Her research interests include new teacher training, narrative inquiry, and best practices in new teacher supervision. After graduating from the University of Iowa, she went on to earn her ME in TESL from Northern Arizona University.

David Mackaman, BA '80, MBA '81, served for many years as the Regional President and Business Manager for the Des Moines, Central, and Western Iowa regions of Wells Fargo. He is also the author of Dogmatic Slumber - My Journey to Awakening. 

Rebecca Arbogast
Rebecca Arbogast

Rebecca Arbogast, BA English and Psychology '80, MA Communication Studies '85, serves as Senior Vice President for Global Public Policy for Comcast, NBC Universal. In this role she is responsible for the development and coordination of the company's public policy efforts. After graduating from the University of Iowa with both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Ms. Arbogast went on to earn her law degree from Yale. Prior to her work at Comcast, Ms. Arbogast served as Chief of the International Bureau Telecommunications Division for the FCC, and in the Office of Legal Counsel for the U.S. Department of Justice, among other positions.

Jerald Walker, BA '93, has published his second memoir, "The World in Flames: A Black Boyhood in a White Supremacist Doomsday Cult." Walker is a professor of Creative Writing and Literature at Emerson College. Click here to learn more about his book.
