For old majors wishing to switch to the new requirements

If you wish to switch to the new requirements, please e-mail the English Advising Office: engadvis@blue.weeg.uiowa.edu and simply indicate that you would like to switch.

The classes you have taken before Fall 2004 will then be applied to the new major requirements as follows:

Modern British Literature and Culture: 8:062, 069, 070, 103, 104, 107, 121, 132, 133.

American Literature and Culture: 8:055, 056, 057, 058, 059, 085, 086, 105, 106, 112, 113,114, 116, 117, 123, 137, 139, 141, 152, 154, 185, 196, 197.

Transnational Literature and Postcolonial Studies: 8:084, 109, 119, 124, 125, 127, 138, 157, 163, 191.

Nonfiction and Creative Writing: All 8N and 8C courses, with the usual exception of 8C:001 which is a General Education course and does not count towards the English major.
