NonfictioNow 2010 Call for Proposals

We are pleased to announce the call for proposals for the third Bedell NonfictioNow Conference, to be held November 4 through 6, 2010, at the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City. We welcome proposals for panel presentations, readings, or roundtable discussions, on any subject pertaining to nonfiction.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 11:59 pm on November 15, 2009. Proposals must be submitted online. Please read the instructions below carefully; only complete proposals will be considered.

Please note: all presenters, including the presentation Organizer, must register for the conference at the discounted panelist rate. NonfictioNow does not pay travel expenses or honorariums for presenters.

PRESENTATION TITLE***

PRESENTATION SYNOPSIS***
Please write a brief summary of your presentation as it will appear in the program if your proposal is accepted. Maximum 60 words.

AUDIO-VISUAL REQUESTS
Please specify what you need and write a brief explanation of how it will be used.

CONTACT INFORMATION
Please include contact information for up to a maximum of six presenters per proposal, including the Organizer. Please designate one presenter as the Organizer. This is the person who should submit the proposal, and with whom we will communicate about the proposal. (The Organizer need not necessarily be the person who moderates the discussion or reading during the actual presentation at the conference, but must be one of the presenters.) Most communication will be with the Organizer, but we will occasionally need to contact all presenters. We do not sell, trade, or share contact information.

PROPOSAL
After filling in the Cover Sheet form you will be taken to a page where you can upload your proposal. In Your proposal should be a single Word or PDF (.docx, .doc or .pdf) file that includes the following:

PROPOSAL SUMMARY
Please write a complete summary of your presentation. Maximum 500 words.

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES***
Please write brief biographical notes for each of your presenters, as they will appear in the program if your proposal is accepted. Maximum 100 words each.

Each proposal may have a maximum of six presenters, all of whom must consent before the proposal is submitted. By submitting a proposal, the presentation Organizer is agreeing that all presenters have confirmed their willingness to participate in the event if it is accepted. One person's name may be on up to four proposals; however, one person can appear on a total of only two accepted events (whether the event is a panel or reading).
