Doris Witt 20th Century African American Literature Having spent the first decade of my career at Iowa doing research primarily in 20th century African American food and cultural studies, in 2004 I began fulfilling a long held dream by studying for a JD at the University of Iowa College of Law. After taking a sabbatical during the 2006-07 academic year to complete the law degree, I anticipate pursuing two new research projects, one in food / cultural studies and one in legal / cultural studies. Although I will continue to teach occasional courses in African American literature, as well as on Vietnam in the global imagination, my primary teaching focus will be related to my research on food and law. |
