Jeff Porter Nonfiction
Writing, Digital Media, and Jeff Porter specializes in literary nonfiction, documentary film, digital media, and modern literature. He teaches classes on radio and video essays, documentary filmmaking, and history of the essay, and directs the department’s media lab. He has made four films: The Men Who Dance the Giglio, Writing on Rock: N. Scott Momaday, Dublin USA, and Herby Sings the Blues. He is the author of Oppenheimer Is Watching Me (University of Iowa Press, 2007), a personalized cultural history of the Cold War. His current book project (Speed of Sound) focuses on the history, theory, and practice of radio art. |
